Tad Lauritzen-Wright

Artist Tad Lauritzen-Wright writes: These images are from my most recent show, “The Fun Show” at the David Lusk Gallery. The show was a reflection on the idea of the family vacation. It was intended to reference the good and bad memories that we all have from our own family trips. In all of my work I am interested in the variety of visual associations that communication builds and the open-ended interpretations that become part of a work's content. I present associations some random and some calculated, creating an open ended narrative within the work. I tell stories that can have a variety of endings, or perhaps, no ending at all. I search for and create ideas with a sense of humor. I sample and develop images and words from high and low forms of culture, past and present, and particularly from the fuzzy margin where they intersect.
