Brian Pera lives and works in Memphis, TN. He is the author of the novel Troublemaker (St. Martin's Press, 2000) and the writer/director of the feature film Other Way Round, described by the Memphis Flyer as "literate and artistic... invok[ing] William Faulkner, Eastern philosophy, and the psychology of loss."

He is currently working on an anthology of writing informed by film, and on creating custom fragrances from essential oils.

His black and white drawings appeared in Six Little Things #7: X is the New Y.
